Stuart Tyrrell has today annouced the availability of new real-time video camera devices for all RISC OS machines. The cameras, called the IPKam, will connect to any RISC OS machine with an ethernet interface and allows the output to be displayed on the RISC OS desktop. Because of the nature of these devices, you can also connect to them and get the video output from anywhere on a local network or over the internet.

"IPKam is a single compact unit which integrates colour sensor and optics directly with a network controller to create a drop-in solution suitable for immediate use" STD say in the press release, embargoed until this morning. The IPKam is supplied with a power supply, network cable, ceiling mounting kit, tripod and viewing software.

For the interested, an A6 can get 25fps (frames per second), a StrongARM RiscPC using RISC OS Adjust and a UniPod can get 12fps. These results are of course dependent on network traffic etc.
