The Icon Bar: News and features: The Icon Bar goes mobile

The Icon Bar goes mobile

Posted by Richard Goodwin on 10:59, 4/1/2001 | , , ,

You can now read all the latest news from the Icon Bar almost anywhere with the completion of the first stage of our mobile data program!

TIB has been available for WAP enabled phones for a while now, but we've since added a simplified HTML version for other handheld devices such as Palm and Handspring palmtops, WinCE devices and so on. It also means you can use a cleaner design if you're using browsers such as the text only browser Lynx, or a TV device such as the Bush Internet TV, Dreamcast etc.

And we've just managed to get a special feed registered with AvantGo, the PDA news channel people, so you can synchronise TIB with your handheld device for offline reading.

Read all about our news feeds on the mobile feeds page.

Unregistered user Do you use RISC OS and/or handheld devices while surveying? I'm sure we could make a news story out of that! (or if not, just make something up anyway)

Unregistered user I survey otters using no electronic device. I don't want to loose it in cow dung. There's lot's of it.
