Indeed, there are many questions about it, the answers to which have not yet been made clear! Quite... which is why I asked if anyone had some inklings they could share... I guess by the lack of response that no-one does (or they're all in bed). I would email the perpetrators (M-D) but I've long since gotten wise to that mistake Any ideas? "moss"? |

On the other hand, MicroDigital could just get on with packing and shipping all those Omegas Good point. Does this mean I'll get an Omega in the post next week? |

OK... It should have been tested on a variety of browsers by Microdigital, who should have then corrected the site and tested it again until it was found to be working properly on the majority, if not all, of the browsers they tested it on, both RISC OS, Windows, and Linux, upon which they should have uploaded it onto their webspace so people here couldn't tear it apart. OK? On the other hand, MicroDigital could just get on with packing and shipping all those Omegas |

Of course, Microdigital's site should have been tested on a variety of browsers... just like I'm being taught on my introductory internet module at uni... |

Too bad the site renders horribly on Internet Explorer 5.5, Netscape Communicator 4.75 AND Opera 5.11 on Windows but seems fine on an old Fresco (1.72) and Oregano 1.10 (demo version)There's probably something not right in the table setup there. Told Microdigital about it right away.
I assume you mean things like and in a different page ...

...
I didn't even bother to look but I suspected something along those lines I'm amazed it works in anything. Stll, nice to find a page that breaks IE but not the RISC OS browsers - usually the other way round. What odd stuff the RISCOS browsers must be.
I haven't had much believe in the RISC OS browsers' page rendering since using Fresco to test a page it came out fine but no other browser could display it! I tried Oregano on several "standard" test pages I'd created but many didn't work. Haven't even seen WebsterXL but I'm told it's not too fond of tables. Hopefully these things will be sorted out soon. |

Yep, it also looks hideous in IE6 and Mozilla. Oregano gets it almost right, but it's WebsterXL that gets it perfect.
I wonder which browser they're using for testing? Has anyone thought of offering their services to Micro Digital regarding their website? Cheers! |

I see the Microdigital website has been redone... they promised the Omega mid-October... does this mean it's finally coming? Do you think that's what it means? Aha! Just had a look at their re-done website, which looks OK until you start to read it and discover that they still can't construct a sentence properly. {Bangs head against monitor} And upon further inspection, a lot of the pages are under construction, or filled with poorly presented waffle. Even if you could buy a working Omega today, I wouldn't show this website to someone (it's too embarassing). Anyone know how this SBPC (which, for £600 doesn't even come with the PC processor) of theirs is supposed to go about offering windows compatibility? One presumes that it can't possiblly allow similar functionality to the RiscPC/aleph1 solution that we know (and love?)? See http://www.microdigital.co.uk/UPSBPC.HTM |
