Erm, slight problem with that... If it's not out in the next month, I'll eat my Risc PC. |

Though with Select they made a different mistake - if its narrow machine support had been pre-announced, hopes would not have been raised unralistically high and its initial release would have been much better received.
If there was a modicum of hardware independence instead of this mess then that problem might have been avoided. Oh woe... |

If only RISC OS was a viable market for anything. You mean, like a Psion-style sub-notebook?
Nathan has a point. EPOC is struggling against the onslaught of WinCE and EPOC has the backing of the Symbian consortium. RISC OS has, er, a few thousand users. Not that I'm saying RISC OS Ltd shouldn't try. I get the impression that some people are interested in education and the third party financing it obviously think it's worthwhile because otherwise they wouldn't bother. |

The Original RiscPCs had a data bus speed of 16 Mhz, so they really don't stand a chance in the playground, poor things. I don't know how a 300Mhz Kinetic would compare running the same software.. It would be fun to try, but first someone needs to obtain a copy of that multitasking version of replay that would work on a RPC (then give me a copy too) For all your phoebe needs, see: http://www.octosys.co.uk/phb.html (warning, this makes for VERY depressing reading!) |

If it makes you feel better, it would be very hard to use with no floppy, CD Rom, network card or modem to get information on or off it |

The Phoebe was very impressive. Is anyone else depressed about the fact that it represents the best RISC OS computer in existance and yet is three years old (ie twice obsolete by PC standards) and we're never going to get our mits on it? I think I would have preferred it if Phoebe had been there and NOT working |
