The PS-2 plug seems to be the wrong size for the RPC mouse socket, hence my intention of hooking it up to the Serial.

I'd really appreciate it if any of you can tell me if it's possible to attach (and use) an Optical mouse on a RISC PC. The optical mouse I have in mind is a PC one it has a PS/2 connector, would it be possible to use a PS2/Serial adaptor plug (yes, they do exist) hoik it onto the serial port and configure the mouse using *Configure MouseType so it thinks its an MS Serial mouse (no the Optical mouse is a rebadged Trust Optical Mouse - me buy MS never!).

Try Stuart Tryall Designs they do a lot of adaptors. I think they do something simliar to what you want don't know the weeb site tho.
