Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if David Buck's Draw2DXF can be found online? His FreeUK website seems to have lapsed, and every other link I can find online points to that site!

(I'm having a royally-crap time writing a DXF exporter - some PC apps can read what I generate, but Inkscape can't. Exporting drawfiles works, so I'd like to see what David's software does with it instead.)

As a side note, I have access to a few versions of AutoCAD if that's any use with testing files.

Ooo! If I sent you a couple of tiny files, could you possibly check them? If they're visible in AutoCAD proper, then I'd feel better about sending them to the laser cutters.

My home email address is kris _at_ danceswithferrets /dot/ org, if you can help.

Afaik DXF has changed in AutoCAD since it can do 3D stuff now. I wouldn't be surprised if Autodesk did the nasty like Microsoft and obsoleted old formats in order to force companies who work regularly with the software to upgrade. That said a while ago I sent a DXF exported from CADet to a laser cutting firm and they had no problem cutting from it.

It still supports down to r12 for DXF import/export, but there's reams of additional data when exporting!
