ArchieSoft are pleased to announce the release of a new educational program for RISC OS, called QuizMaster.
QuizMaster could best be described as a computer simulation of the multiple-choice part of GCSE-type examinations, but with the bonus that the sitter gets his test results immediately!
It is not only a way of testing a user's existing knowledge, but also of stimulating interest in new subjects, and providing keywords for use in internet searches.
Ideal for activity centres, Sunday Schools, home educators and also general entertainment.
QuizMaster was the last educational program produced for RISC OS by Xavier Software - a specialised educational software company, set up by the University of Wales.
However, Archiesoft has now taken over development of the program. It has added various improvements, including support for better quality graphics, using iconised directories for quizzes, and presenting the results of the test on the final screen.
At the moment it is supplied with a small library of quizzes for British Steam, Nature, British Birds, Ancient Egyptians and World Foodstuffs, with further quizzes planned for Astronomy, the Solar System and Ancient Lands (which will be provided free of charge to existing customers).
It has been tested on a StrongArm RiscPC and Iyonix, but I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't work on a Pi, or an ARMini.

QuizMaster has been tested on a StrongArm RiscPC and Iyonix. I am told that it also works on the Raspberry Pi, but I haven't been able to text it myself yet.

The program is also available now from the Educational section of PlingStore
If you want to run the QuizMaker program on a Pi or an Iyo to create your own quizzes, you will probably have to run it with Aemulor, as it's been compiled to 26-bit, and I don't have the source code for it.
However, the script language used to create the quizzes is easy enough, so it shouldn't be that big a problem.
If anybody buys the program, through PlingStore, would you send my your email address, so that I can notify you of further quizzes, and upgrades to the program.
