Unregistered user The Watford IDEFS was IIRC never produced by WE themselves in a version which could cope with HD >512Mb (it was never even fully RO3).

BUT I seem to recall that someone else offered an upgrade ROM (once WE had withdraw from the Acorn market), which could do partitioning for larger drives. Does anyone else remember this or even have one they would sell?

Thanks,
Andrew

Unregistered user I think that Alsystems may have done one, they did an upgrade called PowerROM, but it might have only been SCSI. CTA would probably be the people to call, cos Alsystems have gone as well.

Unregistered user Thanks, I'll try CTA. The PowerROM is now available from Partis but their IDE offering seems to be only for ADFS discs(http://www.partis.org/powertec/products/poweride.htm). If anyone know different...

Regards,
Andrew

Unregistered user Try APDL they do a couple of cards that can read more than 512mb.

I have a 20 Gig drive in 4 partions from APDL

Unregistered user Just to go right off the wall, if 512Mb is a filecore/IDEFS limitation, would a Linux partition in the excess space work? I can specify the c/h/s in IDEFormat to limit the RISCOS part to 512Mb, but will any FS see the rest?
<p>
I suspect the limitation is inherent in the interface, but perhaps worth playing with.
