Also 'character entity references', e.g. < aren't left untouched as they should be, preventing us from using thousands of exciting extra characters, such as the little-known Ω (The Omega ) |

< shouldn't be left untouched as there's no way you can rely on people typing html entities instead of the actual characters they want. The only reason the omega symbol doesn't get picked up is because it's not part of the standard ISO character set, it's part of the Greek one. There's no way around that unfortunately, unless I start second guessing what people have typed by converting, which I'm not going to do. |
