I might well do, but:

a) It's 10 o'clock at night
b) I'm meant to be revising now
c) I doubt the central webct website even works

Looks like network congestion - I'm having problems tracerouting from my router to anywhere.

For a few minutes I was getting 'Error: problem in query' (Or something similar) messages whenever trying to view a forum/thread/make a post/etc. Basically from every page except the main index.

Somehow the forum messages table got corrupted - I repaired that which fixed it, but I've also restarted Apache as it looked a bit poorly.

I don't know what caused the problems earlier but the server was running at 98% CPU usage for a while this evening :o

I think that could have been caused by the 98% CPU usage thing - the last posting date of the playpen was incorrect once TIB was working again, and I'd been trying to post a message when it had stopped responding.

Which process was running hot? Only I can't see the idle monitor, which is supposed to run at whatever processing power is left over after all the other processes have had their share...?

ICQ, MSN? Take your pick, I have them all running 24/7 ;). And I can see you on the server atm - type 'who' :).

It was a httpd process IIRC, I can't remember anything more specific than that.

Do you know how much effort I put into completely removing Messenger (and Outlook Express) from my WinXP boxes!

I know, i was logged in two minutes before you :) unfortunately I didn't install a talker on the server, so it doesn't help.

There's been a load of IIS exploits aimed at 1.0 tonight, and a couple of IPs in the US had shitloads of connections to the web server according to netstat - I just restarted the web server again with a couple of choice commands that should take care of that ;) Load average now down from .33 to .02 :o
