Unregistered user ISTR that on RO4 the place to look is the mimemap file - you need to have a line like "audio/mp3 AMPEG 1ad .mp3" to appear in your mimemap file (!Boot.Resources.!Internet.Files.MimeMap)

or if you've got an earlier version of RISC OS then issuing a "*DOSMap MP3 AMPEG" command should do the trick.

Or have I completely missed the point?

Unregistered user ... change all the file extensions on a CDR? Sorry I put that clumsily - basically, I have a CDR with around 200 MP3s. I had hoped I could put it in my RiscPC CD drive and have a load of mp3's to choose from but unfortunately it gives me lots of files with /MP3 on the end - meaning I can't run from CD unhappy - Is there a way to solve this as I only have a tidlly 1Gb drive and I can't really put all the MP3s onto it and run them from there smile

Unregistered user I got annoyed with DOSFS not re-filetyping files, and had a shot at making my own program to provide 'false' file types from the PC extensions. IIRC it worked quite well, either when running files or copying them, I'll have a fiddle and see what I can do.

I did try modifying DOSFS directly, but I've only got a ROM version so soft-loading a modified version won't work unhappy

Unregistered user I think that's just what I wanted - Now all I need is a table to put my RiscPC on and I'll tell you what happens smile
