The coffee pot used for the first ever web cam, powered by an Archimedes, is up for sale on e-bay... Maybe we should ask RISCOS Ltd to buy it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1260882480 http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/20769.html |

I saw this a few days ago, but seeing as it's only the coffee machine - and a none-working one from the latter half of the web cam's life at that - I decided not to go for it. If they were selling the actual Archimedes I'd have at least posted a news item, but it was at over 100UKP for a broken coffee pot which is a bit rich for my blood. |

Too late, it's been sold, for £3350. Pocket money for That Idiot (TM)! Forgot the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_1490000/1490008.stm [Edited by monkeyson at 11:45, 14/8/2001]

The Register says it's been bought by Der Spiegel, a German magazine, who are going to fix it up and put it back online. I guess that's how they can afford so much money for a broken coffee pot! |
