Unregistered user If anyone has subscribed to this CD-Rom magazine I would be interested to know what points were made in the RISC OS Web portal comparison (for obvious reasons!).

Hopefully it'll be a little better than David Bradforth's RISC OS games site comparision which can be read at the bottom of the games roundup on the online RISC World sample.

Okay, time to correct things. RISCDomain is PRINTED - not CD-ROM based. For £3.99, or £3.50 as a RISC World subscriber, readers receive at least 60 page printed mag, plus a CD-ROM. From the second issue, the CD-ROM is compiled exclusively and guaranteed to have at least two full commercial applications every time. The whole point was kinda to have a magazine out there with both printed and on disc material... and despite everything else I'm not a fan of reading magazines on screen!

At the time I wrote the RISC World thing, a stack of news was appearing and being missed by Acorn Arcade - so at the time it was a fact. Of course now, b****r all's happening [with the occasional exception] so nothing's being missed.

I prefer the layout of Acorn Gaming, and I think that's what I said.

Tim - if you wish to see RISCDomain 1 [bearing in mind there's a lot I wish to do before issue 2], send me your snail mail address and I'll post you a gratis copy. No CD-ROM mind, that ... well ... for that you'll have to wait till issue 2.

Unregistered user Interesting - I don't recall any long complex rows, on either AA or TIB. Heartfelt discussion yes. Perhaps part of the problem is that some of us are honest about our feelings.

As for the comment about news only being updated based on mailings to the editor and not comp.sys.acorn.announce...well it'd be interesting to get a feel for how many people read the newsgroups compared to TIB (hey, maybe that's the next poll - do you read a) TIB only, b) TIB and newsgroups - I stopped reading the newsgroups a long time ago due to the "long complex rows). If TIB came out tops it'd show that perhaps announcements are going to the wrong place wink
