Hi, I recently set up the ANT suite as provided with RISC OS select. I would like to add Java support to it. Can anyone recommend a product (PD or commercial) please? Andrew |

There are 2, RiscCafe from Acorn, only available secondhand now, and showing it's age. The other is from EQrd, see http://www.eqrd.net/english/riscos.html |

It's worth remembering that EQrds offering is actually a port of Waba (www.wabasoft.com) and has the following limitation Waba applications can run under Java but, for the most part, Java programs that use the Java Class Libraries can't run under Waba.
which rules out just about all Java applets and the vast majority of applications. This isn't surprising given that Waba is aimed at embedded platforms and isn't actually a Java implementation. It happens to have been designed in a way to allow certain Java apps to run on it. Basically on RISC OS there is no up to date Java support. |

Well I say that I've set up the ANT suite. I haven't actually used it to try to access the internet. I can't afford a modem (tough being a student!) and whilst I'm living in halls at uni I don't have access to a suitable phone connection. Has anyone used ANT suit to access sites such as this one, Yahoo email, and various internet banking sites such as Natwest or Nationwide? Andrew |

Apparently WebsterXL has just been updated to specifically fix support for online banking. |

when we bought websterXL, in a typical RiscOS way, we were promised updates every 3 months or so, but 6 months later we've had nothing :/ Btw, anyone know what's happened to ftp.argonet.co.uk ? as I reloaded Fresco a while back as part of the voyager suite, but thats without the update for it, which I cant find anywhere |

CSS is apparently just around the corner too. That's excellent news - I want to use CSS but didn't want it to look bad in WebsterXL. |
