After spending about 2 and a half solid days redesigning my website with a new layout, new graphics and many new pages all hand coded, I decided to do a quick count of all the files and managed to delete the whole lot of them by mistake. (Why doesn't RO4 have a recycle bin???) This was about 10 mins ago, as it's taken me this long to recover from the shock. Please, someone tell me a way to recover the files, as I don't think I can get the enthusiasm to design and code everything all over again. Please?

Matthias Seiffert has a program (which doesn't appear on his web site) which he sent to me to allow me to recover files from a HDD I had accidentally initialised. I don't have his email address handy, but if you read the comp.sys.acorn.* newsgroups you will easily find it. Send him an email and I am sure he will send you a copy. Of course, this may be what has evolved into his disc recovery package, a read-only version is on his web site. [Edited by 129 at 06:38, 8/10/2000]

If you haven't already, for goodness sake turn on the "confirm" option. I know this won't help now, but it should help prevent further mishaps. I know how you feel, I once deleted the entire drive_c partion Don't let it get you down |
