If you're looking for some HoMM2 maps look no further than this site, which has loads as well as a few other pages of interest. The maps were made using the PC map editor but I'm 99% sure that they're compatible.

If you're looking for hints and tips, look no further than the sample issue of Foundation RISC User magazine on RISCOS Ltd.'s website. There's a pretty comprehensive article in there written by myself and Richard Hallas. (While you're at it why not join the Foundation? smile.)

If you've got a PC you might be interested to know that HoMM4 is planned for release this September. ZDNet have a sneak preview screenshot, but not much is known about the game at present.

And if you don't have a copy of the game? Set aside a month of two of your life and buy it!

One hint I thought of yesterday - if you're on a map that lets you choose the type of enemy hero, then make them the same as you - it's far easier to build up a big army smile

But then, you probably all worked that out ages ago...

*Thinks a bit*

Is this so that as you capture their towns you'll be getting ones with the same troop types as yours?

I generally don't bother with that kind of thing - I just play as a warlock and smash the enemy with some dragons cool

Plus learning necromancy is a good idea - a couple of thousand skeletons is quite a force to be reckoned with. It's even better if you can get your hands on some ghosts - The ghosts take their souls, then you take their bodies cool

Yes smile Well, when you take their castles. Of course, they've often built up their villages into castles, so you won't have *all* the same troops...

Warlock troops/buildings are so expensive though unhappy But yes; probably worth it for Black Dragons. Still, Titans are nearly as good, and shoot; leaving them less open to attack.

Skeletons are good - but the rest of the necromacers troops are crap unhappy Apart from bone dragons, perhaps...

Ok, I'm working through the 'Good' campaign, and I've nearly reached the end, where there are a choice of two scenarios - one lets you keep any troops you have at the end of it for the next scenario, while the other gives you an Ultimate Crown for the next scenario.

So I've played both - in both cases, when staring the next scenario, you get the listed reward in the summary screen at the start, but it doesn't appear to be there when you actually play.

Any ideas ?
