Thanks :-) .. I mailed Richard about it in case you wanted to link to it. Unfortunately, our publicising of it caused Omicron to go into bankruptcy :-( We (myself, Paul Johnson and Tony "linux" Houghton) are awaiting flames from MD on Monday ;-)

Okay, just so you won't feel left out... I've uploaded a quick version of what I was thinking of doing for April 1st, although I haven't had as much time as I might have liked on the wording. Think of it as a belated April Fools. Enjoy! Click here |

take a look at the "latest" RiscOS New on www.drobe.co.uk & their Hardware exclusive. 'Tis a bad April Fools Joke I could have done with one of this "Ocelot" Laptops Ah well, perhaps Castle Technology or RiscStation have something in the bag thats a little more realistic |

take a look at the "latest" RiscOS New on www.drobe.co.uk & their Hardware exclusive. 'Tis a bad April Fools Joke Having seen it just before it was admitted to be an April fools joke I thought it was hilarious. Even better was the fallout on the newsgroups from it with some people who really should have known better getting quite excited about it - I mean dual 1Ghz XScale processors - anyone who claims to be a developer should know how unlikely a multiprocessor version of RISC OS is, although I guess the suggestion of using one of the processors as an video / IO accelerator isn't that crazy. As for 1Ghz, if they were available don't people think MD would've got their grubby mitts on one? hand-crafted ARM code matching 3D accelerators? ROFLMAO. adapting the OS to the new hardware without technical support or access to the source code? Jeez. Fantastic - hats off to the Drobe boys for that one I also like the one Rich was preparing but were the Argonet boys in on it as well?

I also like the one Rich was preparing but were the Argonet boys in on it as well? Nope, that was a PR shot taken from the preparation of this. |
