The Icon Bar: News and features: More Acorn Tapes Archived

More Acorn Tapes Archived

Posted by Andrew Duffell on 22:28, 23/8/2005 | , , ,

Audio CassetteAlmost exactly two years ago, monkeyson archived the "Introduction and guide to RISC OS 3" tapes as MP3s on The Icon Bar.

After recently stumbling across more magnetic relics in the form of a "Power in your hand Acorn News Update" I decided to also add it to the archive. The 1992 tape contains information about the "New" A5000, and various software packages.

MP3 Stream: Full tape (Stream Software)

Side 1: Part 1 (2.3MB) - Part 2 (3.0MB) - Part 3 (2.3MB)
Side 2: Part 1 (1.9MB) - Part 2 (2.6MB) - Part 3 (1.8MB)

It's a magnetic relic? :)

Anyway, I've changed it. Better?

I want someone to make a compilation of Simon "Uhhmmm" Lovesey's greatest hits. (Side 2, part 1 - ignore the bits about superior and happy Acorn users...)

This is utterly hilarious. Did this actually help shift any machines?

I've just listened to the first minute or so - yes, very funny, but it could be funnier. "Do you suffer from lost modules?" Oooerr, missus.

Simon *cough*-expletive deleted-*cough* Lovesey. Not a name I've heard in a very long while.

When we launched Desktop Tracker, we were given a 12 or 16 track tune that had snippets of these mixed in with it. (Or it could've been the earlier tapes).
