Quake news (17/6/99)
R-Comp Interactive have finally released a semi-official statement concerning the TBA Quake player, which was due to be shipped shortly after last year's Wakefield show (nearly 13 months ago). In a post to comp.sys.acorn.games, Andrew Rawnsley revealed that he has been talking to Peter Teichmann about commercially releasing a "souped up version of ArcQuake". This will include several speed improvements, a proper installer and an improved front-end.
Quite when this will happen is unclear - no deadlines have been set yet but I would imagine it's going to be a while. Andrew said he'd like to see TBA Quake released as an upgrade eventually, but I think the chances of that happening are extremely low. More news when we get it.
