The RISCBook Extreme utilises the latest 2Ghz Centrino processor coupled with Virtual RiscPC-Adjust to produce the most impressive RISC OS running portable to date.
Some more of the features of the RISCBook Extreme are as follows:
- Ultra High resolution LCD screen (1680x1050 widescreen)
- 100Gb Hard drive
- Ati X700 graphics engine
- 1Gb of DDR2 memory
- Standard 15pin or DVI monitor connections
- Dual Layer DVD writing (Windows only I would guess)
- Wireless Networking
Well, R-Comp say it's generally almost three times faster than a Kinetic based RiscPC, and about almost 50% faster than their RISCube3200 (VirtualRPC running on a 3200XP PC). Their guess (and mine) is that it should be about 40-50% faster than an Iyonix.
As always, hard figures should be taken with a small pinch of salt, but they should give you all a good idea of what the machine is capable of.
Most impressive of all is that this is from a Portable machine.
